How do you become not only a 5 star business, but a 5 star business with significantly more reviews than any of your competition?
Tall order...
Let's start with what doesn't work...
Asking... Having your frontline workers ask... Ask then hope... None of those are viable answers. Although they are the most common ways that businesses attempt to get reviews. And it is an easy trap to fall into! Ask clients as they are leaving, or getting ready to hang up and pretty much each and every one of them will tell you they will definitely give you a 5 star review! And they are being honest!
It isn't that they are lying, or that they are secretly hoping for your business's demise! It is simply not as important to them as it is to you! When asked they will invariably say that they will give you a review! Then... Life gets in the way... They forget... Don't really know how to leave a review. Unfortunately leaving reviews isn't nearly as popular as reading reviews.
And that is where so many business operators fall short. They ask, hear the affirmative answers after every request, and see virtually no reviews! Well, other than the guy that left a 1 star review and a paragraph about what a horrible business you have, because Federal Law required that silver widgets be removed from the market place and he demanded a silver widget...
So what is the answer?
Well there are review generation apps such as GooViewZ. These automate your review requests. But most importantly they present your client with links as they are being asked to leave reviews. With GooViewZ, you can send 2 links in each text/email. You are also able to decide with each client which review sites to send them to. Being able to decide what review sites to send to each client is vital. As we've talked about in other sections, asking a client if they have Yelp, or if they have a Gmail, makes it easy for them to leave reviews and the path of least resistance will always yield higher results.
Another reason you want to be able to decide with each client what review sites to send them to would be damage control. Let's say the silver widget guy left a 1 star review with his paragraph on Yelp, but your app is designed to get you reviews on Google, you wouldn't have a chance to balance the negative. With an app like GooViewZ you could direct the next 10 clients to Yelp to help minimize the effect of the negative.
This is why we say that you must have a literal flood of positive reviews! You can never completely eliminate the negatives, that's simply not possible. But you can minimize or even eliminate their effect on your reputation, by just helping your happy clients to easily speak up for you!
